Hey Avi--this has nothing to do with California, I was reading a book that mentioned old New York street gangs, and one of them was called "the Pearl Buttons." Others were "the Gas House Gang, the Gophers, the Fashion Plates, and the Marginals." I think that you would have been leader of the Pearl Buttons. Just letting you know.
